Just needed extra vinegar when used on new potatoes that were on the sweet side. Good method, better then an old recipe I've used for years. Glad it was available.

This was sooooo good!! I only changed one small thing.. I used maybe 2 tablespoons of bacon fat to saute the onions. Definately a keeper!

i love this recipe. i don't care how you feel about potato salad you must try this one. a lot of people raise their eyebrows when they think of vinegar in potato salad, but it works! my mother used to make this when we were younger and this is about as close to it that i have found. even she loves it. i tend to just use a whole package of bacon. everything is better with bacon and I double the sauce ingredients. potatoes soak up a lot of sauce. try it. you will not be disappointed! thanks for the recipe.

Very Good!!!! I used REAL BACON BITS(HORMEL) instead of bacon. To cook onion I used olive and canola to replace the bacon grease. I will make this again...Thanks. KKW

This recipe is fantastic. I loved how the vinegar and celery seed combine for that one-of-a-kind aroma. The only change I made was I sliced my potatoes before boiling, so I had more of a "mashed" version as a final product. Great job!

Good basic recipe, but the amount of water is slightly too much. Even so, it tastes better if the water is replaced with apple juice! Also, scatter some sliced scallions on top for color and crunch.

I made this for an Oktoberfest party I threw last fall and it was a HUGE hit. Everyone raved about it and I sure wish I'd made more because it was the first thing gone! Will be making it again and again, fantastic recipe, thanks for sharing

This was very good i doubled the sauce i would use just a bit less vingar next time. My husband REALLY liked it and he is very pickey when it comes to his traditional potato salad i used a little more bacon. It went great with my grilled chicken and corn on the cob and fresh tomatoes. YUM THANKS

I was a bit nervous serving this to my family - different for potato salad here. My son who does not like cold salads, loved it! I thought it was quite tasty too. I have a tendency to cook without tasting (smelling is a different story) and tweeking recipes even on the first time. Because I have never had this in any shape or form, I followed directions exactly as printed. Very good with rave reviews from the entire family. Will make again and again.

I made this for a 4th of July party & it received several compliments. Perfect for a grill out because there is no mayo in the recipe. Next time I may make a little more of the sauce but I will definitely make again. Delicious!!

I tried this recipe as a side dish for our 4th of July BBQ. It did not dissappoint, it was delish! I boiled and sliced unpeeled small red potatoes and doubled the sauce.

I made this for a picnic for my in-laws (I'm not a huge fan of German Potato Salad). After reading all of the reviews, I added a splash of red wine vinegar. Other than doubling the recipe for more sauce, that was the only change I made. I thought it tasted too vinegary, and was worried that others felt the same way. Well, everyone raved about it and now wants the recipe. Thanks so much for the recipe!

OMG - this is a FANTASTIC dish! I used 7 slices of peppered bacon didn't have celery seed, so just tossed in a little celery salt. Rather than the 12 servings indicated, I calculated my Weight Watcher points based on eight 1-cup servings, and each serving was only 5 points! I made a pork loin roast and brussel sprouts to go along with the salad - best meal I've had ina long time. You don't have to look any further for the best hot German potato salad recipe because this is it! I will most definitely make it time and time again.

This recipe is wonderful! I made this for a fourth of July party since it is healthier than traditional mayonaise based potato salad. It was the hit of the party! Everyone loved it, and the only thing I added was 1 tsp of dried rosemary. This is an excellent recipe that I will be making again and again!
