1 (6 ounce) package strawberry gelatin
1 cup boiling water
2 (10 ounce) packages frozen sweetened strawberries, thawed
2 (8 ounce) cans unsweetened crushed pineapple, undrained
3 medium firm bananas, mashed

DIRECTIONS
In a bowl, dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Stir in strawberries, pineapple and bananas; mix well. Transfer to a 2-qt. serving bowl. Refrigerate until firm.

Nutritional Analysis: One 3/4-cup serving (prepared with sugar-free gelatin and unsweetened strawberries) equals 82 calories, trace fat (trace saturated fat), 0 cholesterol, 55 mg sodium, 19 g carbohydrate, 3 g fiber, 2 g protein. Diabetic Exchanges: 1 fruit.

I have made a variation on this salad for years. My recipe calls for chopped nuts, and a layer of sour cream. It is always a hit at any family gathering.

I have the same recipe as DEBBIEE. We always omit the nuts. It is a standard at Thanksgiving and other family gatherings. If you like strawberries, you'll love this recipe too.
