About me:
Born in Houston in 1962, but I spent most of my life in Tomball. I grew up eating basic Southern food like fried chicken, chicken and dumplings and such. But Texas is Texas, and you can't live there without learning to love Tex-Mex cooking, BBQ and chili!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed on Aug. 16, 2008 by marlakay
They really are the best! They turn out beautiful every time. I usually chill the dough in 3 or 4 rolls wrapped in plastic wrap. Smaller amounts to roll out makes it easier to cut while it is still cold and stiff. Also, I roll out the dough onto a surface dusted with powdered sugar instead of flour. It keeps the dough from getting stiff as I re-roll the dough scaps.

Easy Biscuit Mixture

Reviewed on Jul. 8, 2008 by Laura
great recipe! I made them into sausage biscuits and froze them for my husband to eat in the morning. He is counting them down, and has asked me to make more for him before we run out! I made the mix according to the directions, and them followed the direction on the bisquick box, and they turned out great. I think next time I will try to roll them out a little thicker though, they were a little shorter than KFC's!

Mid-Summer Italian Bread Salad

Reviewed on Jul. 1, 2008 by Kitty Jay
What a unique flavor! The second time I made it, I cut the olive oil to a teaspoon and added some more balsamic vinegar, plus cut the bread in half to save on calories. It was still wonderful--even my dad loved it!
