Houston, Texas

Named after General Sam Houston, Houston is the largest city in the state of Texas. Other factoids also put the city at the top of the heap: it’s the 4th largest city in the US; the theater district has the second largest number of theater seats in a downtown area; it’s home to the largest medical center in the world—and the city’s temperature really gets up there too. Houstonians take refuge in the 11,000 air-conditioned restaurants, eating out more than any other city’s residents—and for good reason. Houston’s Tex-Mex is about as good as it gets, and there’s a reason people can’t stop talking about Texas BBQ.

Spicy Crispy Beef

Reviewed on Aug. 19, 2008 by mommyluvs2cook
Sooooo good! I added carrots to mine and replaced green bell for the red, it was all I had. Also didn't have the rice "wine" vinegar so just added more rice vinegar. Turned out delicious!! My husband, who doesn't care to much for chinese/asian food said, "I would eat chinese more if it tasted like this". I was in heaven, due to loving compliments about my food! Thanks so much for this recipe!

Baked Pork Chops II

Reviewed on Aug. 19, 2008 by houstongal
it was good but was lacking flavor. It reminded me of a dish my mom made growing up..tomatoe sauce, green peppers, onion, garlic and chops. It needs a little something though...we added salt but I don't think I'll be making this one again. I served it over white rice and along side of steamed broccoli. Theres just to many scrumptious pork chop recipes out there these days! Personally...it was a nice change instead of regular ole mushroom chops, but my husband was not a big fan.

Monkey Bread V

Reviewed on Aug. 19, 2008 by mommyluvs2cook
Oh so very very good!! Love this! The only thing I would have changed in what I did was to buy plain biscuits and not the "butter" flavored. Since the recipe calls for a butter glaze it was a bit much butter. Still delicious though. I added the powdered sugar frosting that the recipe suggest and thought it was a great addition. Will definately make again!!
