A Baker's Secret for Bread Machines

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2008
Like many, I subbed margarine for the lard, put the yeast on top and added a tablespoon of sugar - and this bread is the best that's come out of my bread machine yet! The crust was actually edible instead of a near-steel casing, and the bread was light and soft instead of almost-gooey. This will definitely be made more often at my house!

Jumbo Breakfast Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2008
Like many reviewers, I changed the cereal type, but these cookies are awesome! They stay soft, even after a couple of days, and they are perfect for early morning because they're not too sweet. Add a glass of cold milk or a cup of coffee and you're good to go!

Cranberry Orange Cookies

Awesome cookie. Kids watched me make them, saw me add the cranberries, so they won't touch them. Their loss!!

Country Style Fried Potatoes

Not a bad recipe but its lacked a bit of flavor. I added a onion and cooked it in evoo. All around though a good dish either with breakfast or dinner.

Moroccan-Style Stuffed Acorn Squash

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2008
We made this with sweet dumpling squash and really enjoyed it. My husband typically doe not like vegetarian meals but commented that this dish was very satisfying and didn't need meat. My infant had a few bites of the flavored couscous and couldn't get enough!

We liked this with green beans served over angel hair pasta.

Turned out wonderful!!! I used large muffin pan which made 6 and took an extra 10 minutes to cook. I will definitely make these again!

No Bake Peanut Butter Pie

This was very good however the recipe could have stated that the mixture will be runny before you fold in the whipped cream.

Blackberry Pie I

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2008
This pie is great! I was glad to see a recipe for a berry pie that didn't use cinnamon, etc. Pies should reflect the flavor of the berry and not added spices. You could use Ritz crackers and get the same flavor when spices overpower the fruit.-----I just hope that everyone has their own berry patch considering that a 3 oz. pkg. costs almost $4.

Easy Peach Cobbler II

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
I am sitting here enjoying this cobbler as I type. Just like most of you, I was surprise about using white bread, but I am a believer now. I grew up eating my momma's peach cobbler and consider myself to be a expert on what it should tast like. "This is one of the Best" and I highly recomend it. I did cut the sugar back to only using one cup, that was sweet enough for us and I used 3/4 of the juice from the can peaches, because I like my Cobbler a little juicy.

Artichoke Mashed Potatoes

tasted pretty good but not worth the extra effort. Plain mashed potatoes with buter and sour cream are just as good.
